The Sound Diaries #02: Natalie Bailey

Natalie Bailey is a brand manager, music publicist, and the Founder/CEO of Lady Savage Management & PR based in Nashville, TN. With over 13 years of combined professional experience in the music and public relations industry, she helps her clients by gaining them exposure on a national scale and laying the groundwork for them to position their brand for a legacy of success.

We caught up with Natalie to learn a little more about her personal listening preferences, songs and artists that hold a special place in her catalog, and what she’s been working on lately.

In your professional role, you’re regularly supporting musicians in various ways on their journeys. As a listener, who’s one artist whose music has always been there for you when you need it most?

Brandi Carlile. I've been listening to her music since I was 14... for almost 20 years (!!) so to see her become a household name over the last few years makes me really happy. Brandi's lyrics and vocal delivery have a way of tenderly cradling your heart while also ripping it in half. Her sound embodies all three of my favorite genres. She is a poignant Singer-Songwriter, a brilliant Folk Artist, and an incredible Rock and Roll performer.

If you could only include one song in a personal time capsule to represent your journey thus far, what would it be and why?

James Taylor - "Fire and Rain." My dad introduced me to JT's music when I was a small child, and throughout the years this song has taken on several different meanings for me. But its overall theme about the duality of life we all experience proves true time and time again, especially the older I get.

Fill in the blank: A world without music would be like a swimming pool without water.

3 favorite spots to catch a live show in Nashville?

The Ryman, The 5 Spot, The Basement East

You’ve been at the forefront of several successful campaigns for rising independent acts. Can you introduce us to an artist on the come-up that you’re currently excited about working with? What makes them/their music special?

Bridget Rian is an outstanding indie folk/rock musician and songwriter. She is definitely an artist on the rise that you should keep an eye on. I've had the pleasure of working with Bridget since the summer of 2020 when we started building her brand from scratch together. Since then, she's released three full EPs that have received critical acclaim from reputable sources like American Songwriter, NPR, New Noise Magazine, and CMT. Her songs have even been featured in popular DSP's editorial playlists such as Apple Music, TIDAL, Pandora, and YouTube Music. We are extremely proud of our achievements, especially since our "team" consists of only the two of us at present, along with the support of her producer, Paul Moak, and the Nashville Symphonic distribution team. With the release of Bridget’s latest project, Nuclear Family we are thrilled to see how we will continue to grow and expand with much more new music and show announcements in the very near future!
